Kim and Dorian - wedding photography West Wales

On the first of September, 2018 I had the pleasure of doing the photography at Kim and Dorians gorgeous wedding in the beautiful village of Cilgerran, West Wales. This was my first time working in Cilgerran and will definitely be more than happy to go back and work there again, there was plenty of places to capture special little moments, and natural shots. We were very lucky with the weather as it had rained in the morning but by the afternoon it had cleared up and the sun came out just in time for the ceremony at 3pm, it then stayed with us all evening.

I started the day at the church by capturing everyone arriving and chatting including Dorian. I was able to get some lovely shots of both families coming together for a very special day.

Once everyone was seated inside the church we waited for Kim to enter, and what an entrance. Kim looked absolutely stunning and elegant walking down the aisle, with her dad giving her away and all her gorgeous bridesmaids with their helium heart shaped balloons, which was a wonderful idea I thought.

After the ceremony, everyone congratulated the newly wed couple and we then made our way out of the church grounds to do the confetti. Once outside there was a surprise for Kim and Dorian to take them up to the castle, this was a decorated tractor! (see images below!).

Once we were at the castle we did a group photo where I was up at the top of the castle and managed to get an almost birds eye view of them all. We also did some lovely family shots, shots of everyone together and some of just of Kim and Dorian.

We then went on to the Cardiff arms and I was the able to get some shots of the gorgeous cakes, one cheese and one cake!! and lots of natural shots of everyone enjoying themselves together. t was at the Cardiff arms I was able to get a lot of natural shots of both families chatting, drinking and enjoying themselves altogether.

There was a bouncy castle for the children and a bar for the adults, I'm not sure who enjoyed what the most! Everyone was smiling and enjoying their evening.

Overall this was a very gorgeous day, and I can honestly say one of my favourite weddings I've photographed, everyone was so kind, understanding and welcoming as Kim and Dorian had only asked me to do it a week and a half before hand as they're original photographer was unable to do it. It was a beautiful setting in Cilgerran, a part of West Wales I don't usually see myself I will definitely be heading down that way soon to get some shots of the castle. I am so grateful that Kim and Dorian chose me to capture their special day.

Thanks for reading,
